Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
Rice agrees personal terms and is pushing for move, reports.

Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira claims West Ham have rejected an opening offer of £45m and they are holding out for a fee in the region of £80m.

Questions....
Is he a gonna? Would an accepted bid give us enough time to find replacements? How much is he worth?

So some random Italian knows this and it’s not reported here.

Lock this thread.

Not sure anyone expressed happiness about Rice joining Chelsea
Several said they’d understand why he would want to.

Chelsea sold Morata for £58m & the season before sold Hazard for £100m
Like Liverpool their net spend isn’t massive
Plus they usually have about 60 professionals with bunches out on loan who they stockpile before selling at a profit

They're spending the money they got for hazard and morata

AOI,

I don’t think a lot of us do care.

With or without Rice we aren’t going to do much so what’s the point.

So far this summer the rent boy scum have spent £220 MILL on players. If they spent a further £80 MILL on Paddy Rice just how the fuck does that square with FFP?

Also, I'm amazed at all the so-called West Ham fans on here saying they'd be quite happy for Rice to leave us for such an utter bunch of cunts. Does no-one fucking care any more?

Because ffp only affects us apparently.

Money
Ambition
Honour

In that order for pretty much every modern day footballer

Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
At least in the mid-sixties we had the bloody good excuse that honour was more importatnt than ambition (eg, the refusual to try and sign Banks after promising to buy Ferguson).

What's the excuse now, because it damn well isn't honour?

According to Ex no bid received yet although expecting a bid, so no personal terms agreed

Has any Premier league club ever been charged with ‘tapping up’?
And punished in any way

Pedro 10:55 Fri Sep 25
Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
Surely this is tapping up unless we have already said a deal can be done with Chelsea.

Yes, Danny Ings
Though not sure he was an England player at Liverpool & he was going to his boyhood club

SurfaceAgentX2Zero 10:22 Fri Sep 25
Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
It was a step up, where he won the league AND his football continued to improve.

Ball was one part of the great Everton midfield called the Holy Trinity along with Kendall and Colin Harvey

Jaye
I’m talking about players stepping down to a lesser club and performing
Said about Barkley that he moved from Merseyside to London to win things & play Champions league & for England
Not sure of his motivation level at the London Stadium

Ball from Blackpool to Everton was a step up. Where he won the league

Bobby Moore would have fucked off to Spurs in 1966 if it wasn't for a loophole in players registration at that time which would have prevented him playing in the World Cup.

Martin Peters fucked off to Spurs in 1970.

Paul Allen fucked off to Spurs in 1985

Tony Cottee fucked off to Everton in 1988

Rio, Lampard, Joe Cole, Carrick & Defoe all fucked off as well.

We are not a glamorous or ambitious club and we never have been regardless of who the owners have been or what era. Bobby Moore and Martin Peters won trophies with us and still wanted to leave.

Re: Rice agrees personal terms with Chelsea
Why would any player with an inkling of ambition stay? Most of the players have been sold a lemon. Imagine the spiels given by Sullivan. Probably with Anderson , Haller and the like have got the zig.

Their own fault for a lack of due diligence.
